Landmark Country Championships

The 2017 Landmark Country Football Championships will be played in the metropolitan area between July 6 and 9, with five Colts sides to fight it out in Mandurah and seniors teams to play in Perth. Representative sides will travel from across the State to compete at the Championships, with Division One teams including reigning champions the Peel Football and Netball League, the South West Football League, Great Northern Football League, Lower South West Football League, Avon Football Association and Upper Great Southern Football League.

This week's West Cost Poly Player of the week goes to Daniel Cox from the Cable Beach Football Club in the West Kimberley Football League. Daniel starred in a midfield role, gaining centre clearance after centre clearance in a dominant on field display that helped his side to a thumping victory over the Broome Saints. His willingness to take on the tackler and his run and carry the ball was a highlight in a best on ground performance that was capped with a four goal haul, including three from beyond the 50m arc.

West Coast Poly Player of the Week

This weeks West Coast Poly Player of the Week goes to Goldfields ruckman Brett Hill who rucked manfully all day in his sides 10 goal win against Eastern Districts.   The Boulder player gathered plenty of the ball around the ground and pulled in an impressive 12 marks and finished off with a goal to receive his sides Best on Ground honours. Brett now goes into into the running to be named the West Coast Poly Player of the Year with the winner receiving a trip for two to this year’s AFL Grand Final.

This week's West Cost Poly Player of the week goes to Ryan Edwards from the Koorda Football Club in the Central Wheatbelt Football League on the weekend. Edwards was presented with the Regional Men’s Health, ‘Talk to a Mate’ match ball for his best on ground performance as Koorda maintained their spot atop of the ladder with a comfortable victory. Edwards now goes into the running to be named the West Coast Poly Player of the Year with the winner receiving a trip for two to this year’s AFL Grand Final.

Landmark Regional Round

Seven matches will take place in regional WA this Saturday as part of the Landmark Country Championships revised format which is in its second year.  This number is up from six matches last year. 2017 sees the return of the Goldfields Football League who should field a strong side in their return to the Championships since dropping out of the program in 2012.

In the top of the table clash Holmes was unstoppable bagging 10 majors to help his Falcons record a crushing 78 point victory over the top of the ladder Centrals.
