The WACFL has announced a 30 man New Holland State Country Squad ahead of next Saturday night’s interstate clash against South Australia at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. Head Coach Craig Walker and his selection panel finalized the squad following the Landmark Country Championships earlier this month.

Landmark Carnival All stars and Awards

Peel Football and Netball Leagues Andrew Haydon received the Jock Coleman Award as the Division 1 Fairest and Best in the Landmark Country Championships. The former Peel Thunder midfielder was outstanding across the carnival as Peel claimed the Division 1 Championship.

CBH Group Colts Award Winners

The Great Southern Storm's Corey Linthorne was awarded with the Ken Baxter Trophy as the Fairest and Best player at the CBH Group Colts Carnival last weekend. Linthorne, who plays for Royals in the Great Southern Football League attracted Umpire's votes in three out of his four games.

South West victory one for the ages

The South West Football League produced arguably the most remarkable finish in a CBH Group Colts Grand Final in history with an after the siren goal helping them record a thrilling five point victory over Peel. Both teams progressed through to the final following otsanding showings on both Thrudsday and Friday with the Peel's only loss coming at the hands of their undfeated Grand Final opponent.

Central Midlands Coastal sour Goldfields Dream Return

Central Midlands Coastal claimed their first Division 2 Championship since 2003 when they produced a dominant display to defeat Goldfields by 32 points in Sundays final at Leederville Oval. Both sides had been the stand out out team in their respective pools, moving through to the final undefeated to set up an intriguing final.

Female Exhibition Match at Landmark

A composite Female Allstars side from around the State took on a powerful South West Females team on Sunday in the first ever Women's Football match as part of the Landmark Championships.  The match was player prior to the Division 2 Grand Final and gave the women an opportunity to display their talent in a representative format.

Peel make it Back to back

The Peel Football and Netball League made it back to back Division 1 Championships when they accounted for the South West in Sundays Final. The two sides met in the final for the second consecutive year after both sides won their two matches in Saturdays round robin format. Not much separated the two sides in the first term with Peel managing the terms only major courtesy of Kieran May giving them a four-point lead at the first change.

Landmark Country Championships

The 2017 Landmark Country Football Championships will be played in the metropolitan area between July 6 and 9, with five Colts sides to fight it out in Mandurah and seniors teams to play in Perth. Representative sides will travel from across the State to compete at the Championships, with Division One teams including reigning champions the Peel Football and Netball League, the South West Football League, Great Northern Football League, Lower South West Football League, Avon Football Association and Upper Great Southern Football League.
