NAIDOC Round

NAIDOC Week is a national celebration recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The NAIDOC round recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's contributions to football. 

CFWA  Expectations

  • Provide contact details for NAIDOC and forward information provided by WAFC Community Engagement Manager
  • Provide advertising and public announcement information prior to the event
  • Create state wide media awareness
  • Promote Belt Up NAIDOC Design a Ball competition
  • Provide match football

League Expectations

  • Naming rights of the round (if supported) (i.e. NAIDOC Round)
  • Budget advertising where possible (copy provided by CFWA prior to the event)
  • Promote Belt Up NAIDOC Design a Ball competition
  • Distribution of balls to home clubs

Home Club Expectations

  • Recognise Aboriginal ad Torres Strait Islander peoples and their contribution to football (i.e. Welcome to Country, Wearing of Indigenous jumpers)
  • Present football to Best on Ground, opposition or community Elder.
