2026 Women’s Country Championships Confirmed for October

Country Football WA is pleased to announce the 2026 Women’s Country Championships will return to the Perth metropolitan area on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October.

Eight teams from across regional Western Australia will compete over two days, showcasing the state’s leading country footballers and the continued growth of the women’s game throughout the regions.

The opening day will see Division One matches played at the newly established Cockburn ARC Oval, while Division Two will be contested at Good Grocer Park in East Fremantle. All eight teams will then come together for Finals Day at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain on Saturday.

Country Football WA Executive Manager Brent Hedley said the Championships remained an important part of the representative football pathway for women across regional WA.

“The Women’s Country Championships provide players with an opportunity to represent their league and region while competing against some of the best country footballers from across the state,” Hedley said.

“The standard of football continues to improve each year, reflecting the tremendous growth of the women’s game and the work being undertaken by leagues, clubs, coaches and volunteers throughout regional WA.

“With teams travelling from as far as the Kimberley, Pilbara  Goldfields and Great Southern, the Championships are a genuine celebration of regional football and the pride our players have in representing their communities.”

The 2026 Championships will also welcome Nufarm as a major partner, extending the organisation’s commitment to supporting and celebrating women in country football.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nufarm as a major partner of the Women’s Country Championships,” Hedley said.

“Nufarm has already demonstrated a strong commitment to recognising the women who make an important contribution to country football, and this partnership is a natural extension of that support.

“Their investment will help us continue to grow the Championships and deliver a high-quality experience for the players, coaches, officials and volunteers involved.”

Following its Division Two championship victory in 2025, the Goldfields Football League has earned promotion to Division One, where it will compete alongside South West, Great Northern and Great Southern.
