Women’s Championships is back Mon, September 16, 2024 - 3:21 PM

The 2024 Nutrien Ag Solutions Country Football Championship, Women’s Division will be held at Lane Group Stadium, Mandurah  from October 3-4. 

The competition will host eight regional leagues from the Kimberley in the north, down to the Great Southern.  

South West, who have claimed the Division 1 title in every year of the Championships to date, will again be the team to beat. They will be joined in Division 1 by the Kimberley, Great Northern and Peel who earned promotion following their Division 2 Championships win in 2023.  

The Great Southern headline Division 2 after being relegated and they will face stiff opposition fromm North Pilbara, Esperance and the Goldfields. 

“It is exciting to again have eights sides from the far reaches of the state come together for this year’s Women’s Championships,” said Brent Sheridan, Manager country Football – South.   

“It is the pinnacle of Women’s football in regional WA and we can’t wait to see what this year’s championships will bring.   

“With the Championships entering their fifth year and now with two divisions, it’s clear that the quality of competition has grown year-on-year, along with an increase from five to eight teams over that time.?“ 

The Women’s Championships form part of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Country Championships, which kicked off in July with the Mens and Colts Divisions.  

Remarkably 2024 is the 50th year of Nutrien Ag Solutions partnership with Country Football WA.  

The Women’s Championships will again be a great opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge such a significant contribution to grass roots football in WA. ?
