WA Country Struggles Against SA Fri, August 2, 2024 - 9:48 AM

WA Country failed to capitalise on a strong start in a 43 point defeat against SA Country at the Adelaide Oval last weekend.

The West Australians showed great intent in the first term, grabbing a five point quarter time lead courtesy of two goals from Tom Lee.

But in a dramatic momentum change, WA Country conceded six goals to one in the second quarter as the home side established a 25 point break.

Geelong premiership hero Harry Taylor showed a touch of class and aerial skills to kick the opening goal for WA Country in the final quarter.

But the class of the Croweaters ensured a healthy winning margin at the final siren, as South Australia made it eight wins from the past eleven matches against WA since 2011.

Terry House medalist on the day went to Ben Rushforth from Quairading Football Club in the Avon Football & Netball Association.
