2021 WACFL vs PFL Wed, July 14, 2021 - 2:33 PM

On Friday 23rd July, the WA Country Football League State team will take on the Perth Football League under the lights at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. In an exciting addition and for the first time ever, the night will include the Women’s State teams from both leagues.

The WACFL has introduced Michelle Harris as this year’s coach of the Women’s side. Harris was the inaugural South West Football League Women’s Premiership coach from the Nutrien Ag Championships in 2019 and is well known in the South West. She will be hoping to lead her side to victory in what is set to be a memorable night. Bouncedown for the Women’s game is at 6.10pm

The Perth Football League announced West Coast Eagles premiership player, Beau Waters, as head coach of the Women’s side. Waters was typically renowned for his trademark toughness and courage, and he’ll be hoping that he can instill some of that mindset into his players in order to get over what is sure to be a strong WACFL side.

For the 6th year the men’s side will be coached by Craig Walker, who’s experience is sought after in the WACFL. Walker will be looking to atone for his sides’ narrow loss against the PFL in 2019. Luckily for the WACFL side, Walker’s pedigree includes overseeing the team that defeated South Australia at Optus Stadium in 2019. This, along with the depth of talent currently found in the WACFL means they’ll be every chance to knock off the PFL team on the night.

Darren Young has been appointed as coach of the PFL side, as a result of his strong affiliation with the league for over 15 years as well as back-to-back premierships with Bassendean in 2018 & 2019. The PFL will be seeking to repeat their 2019 form over the WACFL in what is set to be a cracking game under Friday night lights.

Following the conclusion of the Women’s game, the Men will start at 7.15pm for what is sure to be a close game. There will be free entry on the night.
