If you notice something a bit different at Country Football Grand Finals this year, then rest assured you aren’t seeing things. At country grounds during September and October this year you will pick out the unmissable Think Mental Health post covers.
The Think Mental Health goal post covers are aimed to highlight that one person dies every day by suicide in Western Australia and how important it is that we look after our mental health.
“It might look a little different having one post standing out like a beacon, but it highlights such an important message for all of our country clubs and communities” said Tom Bottrell, WAFC Executive Manager Country Football and Facilities.
“2020 has been an incredibly challenging year on many fronts and the Think Mental Health campaign intends to highlight the importance of looking after our mental health and wellbeing.”
The WACFL’s promotion of the Think Mental Health campaign is centred on three key messages;
“No one is immune to the ups and downs that life can throw at us and our clubs and members play such an important role in helping one another tackle life’s challenges.”
So, if your out at finals football and spot something a little bit out of the ordinary, please use it as chance to ask the question and ‘Check in on a Mate’.
