Traditionally at this time of the season the WA Country Football League would have just crowned their Nutrien Ag Country Football Champions.
In the current COVID climate though, following the cancellation of the 2020 championships, the WACFL is instead excited to announce that, thanks to Nutrien Ag Solutions ongoing commitment to Country Football in WA, they have seen the first club past the $5,000 mark as part of the fertiliser promotion for country clubs.
The Ravensthorpe Tigers & Hopetoun Southerners combined have just ticked over the $5,000 mark at the start of this month thanks to Nutrien Ag’s offer to give $1 per tonne back to the local football club of the purchaser’s choice for any new customer purchases. To date this has seen over $13,000 raised for country football clubs with Burracoppin, Mount Barker, Kojonup and Bruce Rock have all passed the $1,000 mark.
WAFC Executive Manager Country Football & Facilities Tom Bottrell said the fertiliser promotion and Nutrien Ag’s ongoing commitment to Country Football is appreciated more so than ever given the challenges that season 2020 has presented.
“Nutrien Ag’s long-standing commitment to country football is second to none and we can’t thank them enough for their ongoing commitment to our leagues and clubs. To extend our partnership in the midst of our most challenging season ever has been a massive boost to football.”
“The fertiliser promotion is a great initiative for our clubs and to already see them share in close to $15,000 in such a short period of time is a great result. This is on top of Nutrien Ag’s annual contribution of $100,000 to the Country Football Family, which is an amazing outcome and we look forward to seeing that number continue to rise over the next 18 months as the promotion continues.”
Andrew Duperouzel, Nutrien Ag Solutions Region Manager – West Region said “Nutrien Ag Solutions, including all our agents and affiliates, are proud of the long-standing association to WA country football. We felt it necessary to step up and honour our financial commitment when it is needed most. Given 2020 and all its uncertainties, providing financial certainty to WACFL was always our priority. In fact, we actually extended our support in these tough times and to see local areas get on board with the promotion is great.”
Nutrien Ag’s Fertiliser promotion for WA Country Football Clubs runs until October 2021.
