Friday night at the Tigers Football & Sporting Club Inc in the Newman National Football League a Blue round was hosted and dedicated to Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. This is an annual event for this generous club where each year they choose a different foundation to support for a good cause.
For 2019, $3800 was raised and donated to Lifeline WA.
The Tigers design special Guernsey’s that each player pays for to play in with all proceeds for these going towards the chosen foundation. They also do several different fundraising activities like meat raffles and chase the tiger; like chase the ace.
Their aligned netball clubs also were involved where they purchased blue scrunchies and socks which again all proceeds went towards Lifeline WA.
It has been one of the most successful years and with suicide and mental health being so apparent in the Newman community the organisers were very happy with how the fundraiser turned out.
Congratulations to the Tigers Football & Sporting Club on running such a successful event and promoting mental health awareness in the Newman community.
