WACFL's Strategic Plan 2017-2019 Mon, September 4, 2017 - 11:00 AM

With spring upon us and Country Football finals action in the air, the WACFL has released its 3 year strategic plan titled 'Playing Country Football in a Perfect World'.

The plan looks to address the various challenges with running senior football competitions in regional Western Australia as well as identifying key partners that can provide assistance to those at grassroots level.

"This has been a fairly thorough project which has lasted over 12 months, dating back to a League and Club feedback questionnaire this time last year.  The WACFL executive believes the plan not only lays out the realistic challenges facing our network, but also offers some strategies to ensure Country Football remains strong throughout the State" said WACFL Executive Member Ian Stanley.

The document has identified 15 Key Areas of Country Football that require attention and makes 75 Observations, sets 75 Aspirations and Opportunities and most importantly provides 30 Recommendations for the Executive and WACFL network to work towards in the coming years.

"Completing all 30 recommendations will be a challenge for the network, but we know there is a great deal of work to be done to ensure football can remain healthy in some parts of the state.  I also believe there are a number of motivated people in country WA who feel the time is right to make the changes required to ensure football is on the right track" said WACFL General Manager Joe Georgiades.

The Strategic Plan's foreword was provided by West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett who acknowledged the work of the WACFL and all of country football’s volunteers and stressed the importance of stakeholders embracing change for the betterment of the code.
