A composite Female Allstars side from around the State took on a powerful South West Females team on Sunday in the first ever Women's Football match as part of the Landmark Championships.  The match was player prior to the Division 2 Grand Final and gave the women an opportunity to display their talent in a representative format.

The composite  team was made up of players from regional centres such as Albany, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Mandurah and even as far away as Karratha.

They took on a formidible opponent in the South West who has an established 6 team Womens competition up and running.  The competition has been a raging success thus far and the team has obviously benefitted from the ability to regularly train and plain in a Club based competition. 

The South West team was too strong for the Allstars and ran out comfortable winners.  There was plenty of youthful talent on display for the South West with Trish Lake, Katie Grieve, Karen Cowley, Kristy Larsen and Montana Tate all playing well.  Midfielder Larissa Versaci (pictured) was awarded the match ball as BOG.

For the Allstars, Emily Sharp (pictured) was their best player and looks to have a bright future in the Game. Other finds were17 year old Lexi Chapman, Caitlin Pears, Katisha Barret and Jess Creighton

All players will now return to their local areas with opportunities for the Allstars to play in regular competitions varied dependant on what activities are inplace around the state.  The WACFL is looking to make the Exhibition Match a future pathway opportunity for country players starved of the exposure to access the state's talent pathway.
