Four points, pride and pole position to play in a Division 2 grand final will be on the line in Wongan Hills this Sunday as traditional rivals Central Midlands Coastal and Mortlock clash in Regional Round of the Landmark Championships.

The match will cap off a huge weekend for the Wongan community who will also be hosting the five team colts carnival.

A bus load of 'Coastal' players will be confident of victory with the League containing a bevy of well credentialed country footballers.

Tigershark Brent Lecras (pictured) has been his usual self so far this season with 44 goals in only seven matches and will need to be shut down by the Mortlock backs. Goomalling key back Ryan Van Vugt will lead the Mortlock defence and may be required to do a shutdown job on Le Cras.

Former South Fremantle Bulldog Lewis Harvey has been in brilliant form and will also need to be closely monitered by the Mortlock midfield along with ex Claremont mid Aaron Jarvis who is consistently dominating for Lancelin.   

Mortlock has no shortage of weapons themselves and there is none better in the league then Dalwallinu's Brad McNeil. McNeil has the potential to play State Country Football and solid performances at the higher levels will go a long way to him making the final 22.

Other notable players running through the Mortlock midfield include Brent Leeson (pictured) from Dalwallinu and Toodyay’s Corey Higgins.

Young forwards Tyson Bird and Michael Burgess both look to have bright futures and will be Mortlock’s main avenues to goal. 

This could be the most even and tightly contested game of country football for the weekend and it appears the midfield that can gain dominance will play a big part in the final result.
