Country Footy Regions
Midlands
Footy in the Midlands is community survival, pride and tradition rolled into one. Played across small coastal towns, wheatbelt communities and farming districts, the game is often the glue that holds towns together.
From coastal centres to inland shires with only a few thousand residents, football remains a constant — giving people a reason to stay connected, involved and invested in their community.

Snapshot
MIDLANDS REGION
In the Midlands, football is essential. Many towns are small, populations are shifting, and clubs rely heavily on volunteers and local support to stay afloat. Match day is the main social gathering of the week.
Footy clubs bring together farming families, school kids, volunteers and lifelong locals, creating a shared sense of purpose in places where opportunities can be limited.
The Midlands region covers a mix of coastal and inland communities, many with fewer than a few thousand residents. Senior leagues operate across wide geographic areas, while junior football often runs through single age groups or combined teams to keep participation viable.
